Forum Brasil Diverse debates the absence of black people in leadership positions

During the opening of the debates, this Tuesday morning (8), Maurício Pestana, CEO of Fórum Brasil Diverso, said that there are spaces and black people prepared to occupy these positions of power. “Racism is a global issue, it’s everyone’s problem,” said Maurício. The Forum Brasil Diverse 2022 is an initiative that aims to encourage and discuss trends aimed at equity, diversity and inclusion in society and the business world.

The first block of the event featured issues focused on progress and regression when it comes to racism in Brazil, access to education, intersectionality, racial equity and the positioning of big names in the corporate world such as Tomas Flier, Google’s inclusion leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) – USA, Flávia Garcia, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Latin America and Canada at Google – USA, Edvaldo Vieira, CEO – Amil Unitedhealth Group Brazil and Christian Gebara, CEO Vivo/Telefônica Brasil .

Renata Afonso, CEO of CNN Brazil , participated in the panel ‘When the CEO is “Diversity” and stated that companies need to look at their environments, especially communication ones, with plurality. “I like to say that communication needs to be an environment of diversity, inclusion and belonging. People need to feel like they belong in the space they work in.” highlights.

Renata also recalled her trajectory when she entered a position of power in a communication company and highlighted projects such as CNN no Plural a multiplatform project that deals with guidelines on diversity and inclusion.
