Forza Horizon 5 on Steam Deck produces the same graphics as on Xbox One

An enthusiast under the nickname ElAnalistaDeBits two days ago, on May 7, published the results of testing Forza Horizon 5 on several platforms at once, but the most interesting thing is that Microsoft’s latest race looks on the Steam Deck portable game console. The fact is that the racing simulator demonstrates a stable frame rate of 60 FPS on Valve’s portable gaming PC at about the same settings at which the game runs on the once-flagship Xbox One console. True, the user recalls that at the moment Forza Horizon 5 has not been officially tested for performance on Steam Deck.

A video posted by ElAnalistaDeBits shows the game on Steam Deck running at 720p at 30fps on high graphics settings and at 60fps on low settings. These are, in fact, about the same display settings that are used by the Xbox One console when launching Forza Horizon 5. Naturally, on a stationary console, a gamer can get a higher image resolution, but, on the other hand, representatives from Microsoft may well optimize their racing game in the future. simulator so that on a portable set-top box the picture quality or frame rate is better.

The enthusiast also added that although the console does show 60 FPS at the minimum graphics settings, Steam Deck still cannot show a smooth frame rate all the time – sometimes short-term drawdowns occur. On the other hand, Forza Horizon 5 runs even faster on the Valve console than on the Xbox One, which can perhaps be explained by the faster storage and more modern memory subsystem. And in any case, it is already very pleasant to see the most impressive computer race in terms of graphics on a portable computer.
