The partial list of the 100 best restaurants in the world in 2022 from the The World’s 50 Best Restaurants was released this Tuesday (5), and among the selected houses, four Brazilian restaurants stand out between 51st and 100th place .
Altogether, restaurants from 22 destinations appear in the ranking, including 20 novelties that appear for the first time.
From this published list, the DOM, Alex Atala’s restaurant in the Jardins neighborhood of São Paulo, is the best placed among Brazilians, in the 53th position.
The novelty is due to the entry of the evvai on the list, which appears at 67th place. led by chef Luiz Filipe Souza the restaurant in Pinheiros, in the capital of São Paulo, is praised in the ranking not only for the creations in the kitchen, but also for the “excellent wine list and classic and creative cocktails, such as negronis or gin infused with chai”.
One of the most popular restaurants in São Paulo, the Evvai opened its doors in 2017 and works only with tasting menus. The cuisine offered is called “oriundi”, with an Italian base, but integrated with Brazilian culture and producers.
“Very happy to be among so many important names for gastronomy”, celebrated the official profile of the restaurant on social media.
Then, in 78th place, is the lasai , unique in Rio de Janeiro. The house is led by chef Rafael Costa e Silva, who offers modern cuisine with a seasonal tasting menu in a new address in the Marvelous City – from the townhouse in Botafogo that had been operating since 2014, it started to serve clients in an intimate space in Largo dos Leões, in Humaitá.
Finally appears the Mani, at 96th Position, chef Helena Rizzo’s home in São Paulo, which features original and contemporary Brazilian cuisine.
The complete list of the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2022, which covers the first to the 50th position, will be revealed on July 18 at a ceremony in London.
