Four children drowned in Canada while fishing on the river bank – They were swept away by a tidal wave

Four children found dead in the St. Lawrence River in northern Quebec Canadaafter being swept away by a tidal wave while fishing.

According to Canadian Provincial Police, eleven people were fishing on the river bankwhen they were swept away by a tidal wave at around 2am on Saturday (local time) near the commune of Portneuf-sur-Mer.

Police officers who rushed to the scene reported that six people were rescued in timewhile an operation was set up to locate five missing persons.

A few hours later, four children “over the age of 10” were found unconscious and were taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The fate of a 36-year-old man is still unknown and soldiers and divers have been deployed in the area who, with the assistance of a helicopter, are looking for him.
