Four European managers have already paid for the gas in rubles

Four European gas executives have already paid in rubles, Russia has demanded, according to a source close to Russian energy giant Gazprom, citing Bloomberg.

According to the same person, who spoke to the agency on condition of anonymity, a total of ten European companies have already opened the relevant Gazprombank accounts in order to meet the demands of President Putin.

The source added that after Poland and Bulgaria, until the second fortnight of May, when the next payments expire, no further cessation of flows is expected in case other countries refuse to meet the Kremlin’s demand.

It is recalled that Moscow today cut off supplies to Poland and Bulgaria after the two countries refused to use Gazprom’s proposed mechanism for payments in rubles, although the Russian energy giant claims that the engineer does not violate European Union sanctions.

The same position was expressed earlier today by the German manager, Uniper, who informed that he uses a mechanism that allows payments in euros which are converted into rubles by a Russian bank, which according to the assessment of the European Union does not violate the sanctions.
