Four firefighters injured by Ukrainian shelling in Donetsk region

Four firefighters, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, were injured by Ukrainian shelling of the Donetsk region, the ministry announced today. “In the Petrovsky region, firefighters of the ministry were working to extinguish a fire that occurred after (Ukrainian) shelling,” the ministry said via the Telegram platform. “An alarm was sounded for a new artillery strike. Artillery fire hit them while they were moving away.” Donetsk is one of four regions in eastern and southern Ukraine that Russia announced it would annex at the end of 2022, in a move condemned as illegal by most countries at the UN General Assembly. Russia does not fully control any of the four regions. Source: RES
