Ukraine has received four more US high-mobility missile systems (HIMARS), which have dealt heavy blows to the army of Russian invaders, the Ukrainian defense minister announced on Monday, according to Reuters.
“I am grateful to the President of the United States and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, as well as the American people for strengthening the Ukrainian military,” Oleksiy Reznikov wrote in a message on Twitter.
HIMARS have a longer range and are far more accurate than Ukraine’s Soviet-era artillery, allowing Ukrainian forces to hit previously inaccessible Russian targets.
Russia has been invading Ukraine since February 24, having seized about 20% of Ukrainian territory.
