Four people arrested in operation against drug trafficking and crimes against public administration

Four people were arrested during a Federal Police operation to investigate crimes against the public administration and drug trafficking, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo.

The operation, named Antithesis, in allusion to illegal acts committed by public servants, who were supposed to combat drug trafficking, had the support of the Corregedoria of the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo.

On the morning of this Thursday (17th) four search and seizure warrants, issued by the Federal Court, were also executed.

The police investigation initiated by the police investigates the crimes of embezzlement – ​​which is the embezzlement of public money –, criminal association, drug trafficking and association for drug trafficking. The court also determined the blocking of the assets of those involved up to the limit of R$ 5 million.

During the investigation related to the case, two other arrests had already been made. Those investigated will respond for the crimes of gang formation and for committing violence in the exercise of their function or under the pretext of exercising it. If convicted, they could serve sentences ranging from 11 to 30 years in prison and a fine.
