The Brazilian Navy confirmed that four crew members of the cargo ship that sank last Sunday (15), in the Greater Recife region, died and that one remains missing.
The other four occupants had already been rescued in good health.
They were identified as: Edvaldo Baracho da Silva, Marcelo Claudio da Conceição Freitas, Mozart Gomes da Fonseca and Valcei Gomes da Costa.
Since the incident, the Navy has activated SALVAMAR Nordeste, which is responsible for coordinating search and rescue operations in the region.
The operation is also counting on the Patrol Vessel Macau, from the Northeast Naval Patrol Group Command, in addition to an H-36 aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force.
