A man suspected of involvement in the death of musician Flávio de Oliveira Silva, known as Fal Silva, was arrested on Thursday night (17) in Dias D’Ávila (BA), in the metropolitan region of Salvador. Fal was the guitarist for the band Afrocidade.
The arrest was made by military police officers from the 36th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM), who were investigating a report of drug trafficking. 56 portions of drugs and cash were found. One of the detainees had an open arrest warrant related to the guitarist’s murder.
Major Adalto Caribé, commander of the 36th CIPM, highlighted the importance of the operation, stating that it “reinforces the Military Police’s commitment to guaranteeing peace and security for the population”. He also highlighted that the anonymous report and the team’s quick response were essential to the success of the action.
The suspects and the seized material were taken to the 25th Territorial Police Station (DT), where they remain at the disposal of the Justice Department.
The musician died after being beaten on May 24, 2024, in Camaçari, also in the metropolitan region. During the investigation, two suspects were detained in June. Witnesses reported that four men participated in the attack, but the police reported, in a statement, that seven people were charged with the crime.
According to the Civil Police of Bahia, this week, two men were arrested for participating in the musician’s murder. In total, four suspects were detained in preventive custody. Three people remain at large.
