FR. Hollande: EU sanctions against Russia are insufficient and should be strengthened

Former French President Francois Hollande, who met today with current President Emanuel Macron, said that the EU sanctions against Russia were insufficient and should be strengthened.

Shortly after the meeting between the two men at the Elysée Palace, Hollande said he had pointed out to Macron that sanctions should be a decisive blow to Russian leaders. Referring to Germany, he noted that it should be noted that the policy of sanctions against Russia entails additional costs, but noted that continuing to buy gas from Russia is not easy to justify.

Apart from François Hollande, Macron is also expected to invite former President Nicolas Sarkozy to the Elysee Palace.

Finally, the Socialist candidate for the presidency of the French Republic and current mayor of Paris, Ann Indalgo, met today with Ukrainians living in Paris, as well as with representatives of the Ukrainian embassy, to whom she expressed her full support.
