France: 4-week quarantine in Paris and other parts of the country

The imposition of a new quarantine, lasting 4 weeks, from tomorrow (19/03) for 16 apartments in the country, including Paris and the wider region of Ile-de-France, due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the government announced France. All this is coming while the death toll from the pandemic is approaching 100,000 people.

“New mass measures to stop the epidemic will be implemented from midnight on Friday for 4 weeks”, said the Prime Minister of France, Jean Castex, during a press conference, however, clarifying that the schools will remain open.

As the head of the French government pointed out and according to what the APE-MPE conveys, the new quarantine will be less strict compared to the previous catholics lockdown.

Shops with the necessary products, including bookstores, will remain open and outdoor activities will be allowed within a radius of 10 km, however travel between regions will be prohibited.

Castex also announced that the traffic ban throughout the country will start one hour earlier, at 20:00 pm (Greek time).
