A 36-year-old Romanian – wanted in Denmark for human trafficking, pimping and rape – was arrested in mid-December in France and in the coming days the decision on his extradition is expected in Bucharest, reports the French News Agency (AFP) citing judicial imgs and relays the Athens News Agency.
The Romanian he was arrested on 13 December at a toll station near Biarritz (south-west) during a routine check, as he had just crossed the Spanish-French border. Pursuant to a European Arrest Warrant issued on November 5, the 36-year-old was taken into custody.
THE arrested appeared before the Court of Appeal today and, according to judicial imgs, “did not object” in its Danish edition. The decision will be announced on December 23.
The 36-year-old is wanted by the Danish police on the charge of transporting Romanian women to Copenhagen and forcing them into prostitution. He is also accused of rape and physical violence, while at this stage of the investigation, five of his victims have been identified.
