The French health authorities announced today 25,492 new cases of coronavirus.

In the past 24 hours, 176 patients treated with Covid-19 lost their lives due to complications of the disease, with the total number of victims in the country exceeding 143,000.

1,589 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU), 27 more compared to yesterday, Sunday.

At the same time, the French health authorities announced today that 579 carriers of the virus were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of patients due to Covid-19 to 24,205, the highest since March 1, as there is another outbreak of infections.

The weekly infection rate has risen over the past three days, following a downward trend in the previous six, which led Health Minister Olivier Veran to estimate that the peak of the last wave of the pandemic was over.
