France is discussing with allies the possibility of holding an informal meeting between European leaders about Ukraine, although nothing has been decided so far, a French presidency official said on Saturday (15).
Speaking of a panel at the Munich Security Conference, Poland Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said French President Emmanuel Macron summoned a summit of European leaders in Paris.
“President Trump has an operation method that Russians call recognition through battle. You press and see what happens, and then change your position, legitimate tactics. And we need to react, ”said Sikorski.
The leader continued to claim to be very happy “that President Macron has summoned our leaders to Paris tomorrow, and I hope they deal with it in a very serious way.”
However, the French presidency official stressed that if there were any summit, it would not be on Sunday.
“I am happy that the Prime Minister (Polish) @donaldtusk will be invited by President @emmanuelmacron on a meeting of European leaders. We need to show our strength and unity, ”Sikorski wrote later on the social network X.
It was not clear whether the invitation would be sent only to the European Union Member States or more broadly, and whether Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky would be invited.
