France: Clashes continue in pension protests – “Macron, resign”

The effervescence remains France because of the mobilizations for the pension reform that the government is trying to pass without a vote in the National Assemblyas violent clashes in Paris between police and protesters continued for a third night.

“Macron, resign” and “Macron will break, we will win” were the slogans chanted by the crowd in the Place d’Itali, in southern Paris. The police used tear gas and clashed with some groups of protesters who set trash cans on fire.

The municipal authorities banned gatherings on the central Place de la Concorde and the neighboring Champs-Élyséesafter two consecutive nights of riots in the French capital which led to 61 arrests.

On Saturday night, in the French capital, a a group of students and activists from the collective “Permanent Revolution” entered the Forum des Halles shopping center, urged people to go on a general strike and shouted “Paris, rise up”.

A rally was also held in Lyon, which had to be ended at the request of the mayor due to the presence of “hostile groups”. There were also incidents with the police using tear gas.
