French MEP Jose Evrard, whose far-right party had criticized the vaccination program against Covid-19 and opposed government measures against the spread of the new coronavirus, has died from complications of the disease, the French parliament announced today. .
It remains unclear whether Evrar, 76, had refused to be vaccinated himself. On social media he had expressed his support for those who protested against the restrictive measures for Covid-19.
“I send my heartfelt thoughts to his wife, children and relatives, as well as to his colleagues and colleagues,” French National Assembly President Richard Ferrand wrote on Twitter.
Representing the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais in northern France, Evrar was one of three members of the far-right Debout la France party. The party’s founder, Nicolas Dupont-Ainian, is one of the most prominent figures in the anti-vaccination movement in France.
In October, Evrar co-sponsored a parliamentary resolution calling for a commission of inquiry into the side effects of Covid-19 vaccines.
