The candidates who overcame the obstacles of Aygyros have already taken battle positions for him for the Byvgyros of the parliamentary elections. The very long abstention is a problem.
There are five candidates who managed to get elected in the first round. Four of them are from Melanson’s Left Popular Union and one from Macron’s coalition.
At the same time, many duels have taken place, most of which are: 272 between the Popular Union of Melanson’s Left “Nipes” and Macron’s “Together” coalition. Following are the 113 duels between Macron’s coalition and Le Pen Alarm and another 61 between Alarm and Nippes. At the same time, there are 8 triangular elections between “Nipes” – “Together” – “Alarm”.
As for the instructions to the fans, what to vote in case of duels, the Melanson team repeated “not a single vote in Le Pen”, on the contrary, a disagreement was observed in the governing majority. Government spokeswoman Olivia Gregoire said “this is a small number of districts, not generalizations, the fighting is taking place locally and is not a national issue today.”
On the contrary, Mont Breson, a representative of Macron’s party with the new name “Renaissance” (En marche the old) said: “I want to be clear today, not a single vote in the Le Pen Alarm, we say it in all cases, this our own DNA on which we were made “. The position was also supported via twitter by Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne, who wrote: “not a single vote on the far right”.
The big abstention is worrying
The large percentage of abstentions is of particular concern to many political observers at this time. One in two French people did not go to the polls in yesterday’s first round of parliamentary elections, leading to a record 52.8% abstention.
The question is, how can a parliament function normally, be considered democratic and credible, when it has not been recognized by half the electorate? How is it that the voters show so much indifference to the usefulness of the legislative work of the deputies, so important for their daily life?
On the Parisian channel Saint-Martin, the young people who enjoyed yesterday afternoon’s sun, kept giving us the same answer: “But I did my duty, I voted in the presidential election, the parliamentary elections do not make sense”. So in the answer is the interpretation. The overwhelming majority of newly elected presidents in recent years has turned parliament into a “recording camera” of the president’s wishes. The French experienced it in practice during Macron’s first term, during which, together with the central Bairou, the president had 350 deputies at his disposal, out of a total of 577.
The experience was unpleasant, culminating in the Yellow Vests. The French do not want to hear about something like this today and Macron is in danger of not gaining an absolute majority.
The French people are in a phase of rejection, with a strong desire for reforms in both the institutions (5th Republic) and the electoral system with the introduction, at least in part, of the proportional system, with the aim of a more democratic parliament.
