France has 62 new Michelin-starred restaurants in 2024

A France has a new selection of restaurants starring Michelin Guide . The 2024 edition was presented in a ceremony at the end of March and 62 new restaurants entered the desired guide.

In total, two restaurants received the maximum distinction of three stars, while eight new establishments received two stars and 52 establishments obtained the first star.

New three Michelin stars

O La Table du Castellet it won the highest distinction in the Michelin Guide under the command of a chef who was just 35 years old. He is Fabien Ferré the youngest French chef to have three stars.

The restaurant is located at the Hotel du Castellet, in the town of Le Castellet, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Provence, in fact, is a source for the vegetable and botanical products used in the chef's creations, which result in two menus: one with vegetable expression with four or six times, between €160 and €210 (around R$865 and R$ 1,135), and another with a marine expression with four or six strokes, between €195 and €260 (around R$1,050 and R$1,400).

The other house to obtain three stars is in Paris. And the Le Gabriel , opened nine years ago inside the five-star La Réserve hotel. The chef is the one who controls the stoves Jérôme Banctel who works with the flavors of Brittany, his homeland, and his travels around the world.

Three menus are served. “Escales” is served at lunch in three stages for €98 (around R$530). At lunch and dinner, the “Virée” has seven times and reflects the chef's memories in Brittany for €278 (R$1,500). Finally, “Périple” is presented at lunch and dinner as an “odyssey” in tune with the chef’s inspirations, in which fusions from several countries appear. The seven-stage one costs €298 (R$1,610) and the nine-stage one costs €348 (R$1,880).

Other highlights

Eight new restaurants received two stars in the guide. One of them is the Jules Verne , on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Another highlight with two stars in the City of Lights is the L'Orangerie directed by chef Alan Taudon inside the Four Seasons Hotel George V.

In relation to the first star, the guide chose 52 new homes with the distinction, 23 of which were opened in 2023.

One of these new restaurants, for example, is l'Espadon inside the Hôtel Ritz, run by chef Eugénie Béziat . It is worth highlighting that, in total, Paris has 95 one-star restaurants, consolidating itself as the main gastronomic destination in France according to the Michelin Guide.

In the area of ​​sustainability, nine establishments in the European country received a green star, which certifies houses with sustainable commitments – France is the country with the most green stars in the world, with 94 restaurants with the distinction.

In total, with the new selection, the France now has 639 restaurants starred by the Michelin Guide . There are 30 with three stars; 75 with two and 534 with one. Recommendations can be found in official site and on the app, but those who want to buy the 2024 printed edition must pay €29 (R$156), available in French bookstores.
