Sudan received a batch of 218,400 doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine as a donation from France, as announced by the Ministry of Health and UNICEF.
The installments were delivered with the support of UNICEF through the COVAX program, as mentioned yesterday, in separate announcements.
In March, the Sudan received an initial batch of 820,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX program and UNICEF.
At the same time, he received 606,700 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines as part of a US donation in August. China has also supplied quantities of the Sinopharm vaccine against COVID-19.
More than 800,000 people in Sudan, including health workers, have been vaccinated since March 2021, when the first shipment of COVAX arrived, as well as other donations, UNICEF announced yesterday.
Most have received a single dose, and the new vaccine dose load will help increase the number of people who are fully vaccinated, UNICEF added.
