The famous Haitian musician Mikaben died after collapsing on stage during his concert in Paris. The acclaimed artist, whose real name is Michael Benjamin, performed at the 20,000-seat Accor Arena as a guest of Haitian band Carimi. As he exited the stage, Mikaben suddenly collapsed. In shock, bystanders rushed to alert the emergency services.
Accor Arena confirmed the news of his death on Sunday with a statement on Twitter. The statement, written in French, explained that Mickaben “died after suffering unwellness at the scene, despite the efforts of the emergency services”, saying she was shocked by the news, reports the ETonline.
His wife, Vanessa, who is pregnant with their third child, shared a post on her Instagram account thanking for the prayers and requested privacy, while mourning the loss of her husband. “Thank you for your prayers. Please don’t call me. I am in no condition to speak. I’ve lost my other half and I’m in no condition to say a word.”
