A man dressed as a ninja attacked and wounded two female police officers with a sword in Cherbourg, northwestern France, today, before being shot and wounded by other police officers, a police spokesman said.
According to her, there are currently no indications that the perpetrator had terrorist motives.
A police spokeswoman said the perpetrator had stolen a vehicle and caused an accident, after which he attacked the two female police officers who had been called to the scene, injuring one in the face and the other in the chin.
