France – Parliamentary elections: Abstention will be greater than the first round according to estimates

38.11% of French people had voted by 17.00 French time (18.00 Greek time) according to an announcement by the French Ministry of Interior. This percentage is lower than the corresponding one of the first round of last Sunday, where 39.4% had voted.

However, it is higher than the percentage of the second round of the parliamentary elections of 2017, when he had voted 35.3%.

Based on these data, the abstention is estimated by the French media that at the end of the day it will be of the order of 54%, ie higher than that of the first round which was at 52.5%, but lower than that of the second round of 2017 which was at 57.4%.

It is noted that in most polling stations and specifically in 70%, the polls will close at 18.00, France time, in 10% of polling stations will close at 19.00 and in the remaining 20% ​​of polling stations, ie those that are large cities, will close at 20.00 .

The media will broadcast immediately after the first estimates for the number of seats of each party. These estimates are usually reliable insofar as they are based not on ballot polls but on counted ballots.
