France-Poll: In the second round of the Presidential Elections the conservative Pekres against Macron

A new poll shows the conservative Valerie Pecres as the most likely presidential candidate who will face the current leader of France, Emanuel Macron, in the second round of elections in April 2022.

The Ipsos / Sopra Steria poll shows Pekres, whom the conservative Republican Party nominated for the presidency earlier this month, winning 17% in the first round against 25.5%. Macron, but ten percentage points above a corresponding October poll.

The two candidates who win the most votes in the first round on April 10 will advance to the second round on April 24.

Far-right Eric Zemour, a teleperson who came to the polls in the fall in a number of polls, came in second in the first round after Macron, with his popularity plummeting from 16% in October to 14.5%.

So he is in the same position as the also far-right leader of the National Alarm, Marin Lepen, whose popularity also fell from 16% to 14.5%.

The leader of the Greens, Yannick Zando, and the far left Jean-Lynn Melanson are far behind in the intention to vote, each receiving 8.5% in the intention to vote.

The poll was conducted online on a sample of more than 10,000 people, from December 7 to 13.
