France praises Lebanon for Hezbollah’s disarmament decision

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Baro praised the Lebanese government on Thursday for the “courageous and historical decision” this week to disarm the Shiite Hezbollah movement, noting that this move would allow the country to “gain”. Mr Baros “greeted” through X the decision “a state of powerful, having the monopoly of legal violence, capable of guarantees the protection of all communities, the rebuilding of the country that suffered major catastrophes from the war and the economic crisis, and to guarantee their territorial integrity.” Lebanon and its citizens “can count on France”, which means to stand “on their side” on this path, added the head of the government of Emmanuel Macron’s government.
