France: Six candidates for the presidency of the National Assembly in today’s secret ballot

Six MPs have nominated to be elected today Thursday to the presidency of the French National Assembly. The New People’s Front of the Left, which came first in seats after the recent parliamentary elections, announced today that its candidate will be Andre Sasseny, who was elected with the French Communist Party. Outgoing president Yael Braun-Pivet has announced she is running again on behalf of the Macron faction, as has Naima Moussou, who is a member of the Macron-affiliated Horizons party.
