The French health authorities announced today that the admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals has increased by 467 in the last 24 hours to 21,073. This is the largest increase in 24 hours since February 1st.
In particular, 1,533 patients with Covid-19 are currently being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), 47 more than yesterday, Sunday.
On a weekly basis, the number of hospitalizations records an increase of 1.8% with further upward trends, after the “dive” in early February.
The weekly index of new infections (127,488) is at a six-week high.
In the past 24 hours another 149 people have died due to complications of Covid-19, with the total number of victims of the disease exceeding 141,000.
