Three people lost their lives from one fire which occurred during the night Friday to today Saturday in a apartment building in Stan (north of Paris) and eight more people were injured, including a child, local authorities said.
According to a police source, the fire broke out around 2 a.m. on the ground floor of the three-story building, located near the city hall of the city of 39,000 people, about 15 kilometers north of Paris.

The fire was extinguished during the morning hours. The city’s mayor told AFP that the dead were a 65-year-old tenant who lived on the third floor, her sister and a family friend.
Of the eight injured, three are hospitalized in a serious condition, including a six-year-old boy, the mayor said, speaking of a “terrible tragedy”.
