The president of the court, Celine Ballerini, stressed that the two men applied “systematic and uniform treatments” which “destroyed lives”, with their clients being left “without a smile” but “in unbearable pain”. The sentence imposed on them is justified by the large number of victims, the damage caused to the Health Insurance Services as well as the very large sums needed to restore the health of the patients.
