France today warned Russia of “strategic and massive consequences” of an attack on Ukraine as Moscow accuses it of mobilizing troops on its border.
“Strong messages have been sent to Russia about the strategic and massive consequences of a new attack on Ukraine’s territorial integrity,” the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Since last week, the US government has been threatening Russia, which it accuses of regrouping its troops on the Ukrainian border, with draconian economic sanctions if it decides to attack the neighboring country.
“We are monitoring the situation around Ukraine with the utmost care. The heads of state and government have expressed their determination to ensure that its sovereignty is respected,” he added.
