Francesca Barra And Claudio Santamaria celebrated in Rome the baptism of their little girl Athena, born on February 2nd. After ceremony in the Vaticanthe little girl – wearing a white dress in embroidered organza – was the protagonist of a picnic in the open air among a myriad of balloons, blankets spread out on the ground, cushions on the grass and chic version of camping tents. «One of the best parties of my life. Surrounded by true love », wrote mother Francesca sharing some photos of the day on Instagram. There were also to celebrate the latest arrival in the (extended) family the other children of the Barra: Emma, Greta and Renato, had by the ex-husband Marcello Molfino. Santamaria also has another daughter: Emma, had by the ex Delfina Delettrez Fendi, eldest daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi.
Claudio and Francesca, married since 2017 (wedding in Las Vegas followed, the following year, by the wedding in Policoro, in Basilicata), had never hidden the desire to expand the family. A dream that didn’t come true immediately. In fact, in 2019 they experienced the tragedy of an abortion: “We will need a lot of time and respectful silence, not to cancel, but to let this piece of life severed and this pain find the right place in our heart and rest, and rest, without the obsession of the millions of whys that now chase us even knowing that they will never get the answer that our heart deserves », wrote the journalist at the time. What then a few months ago, guest of very trueshe went back to talking about that pain describing it as “a black hole“.
Then last August the announcement of the pregnancy finally arrived via social media. And on February 2, the new parents had announced the birth of their first daughter along with a tender post: “Our Athena was born, mom and dad in love”, they had written in support of a photo in which their hands clasped those of the child. Four months later, the baby’s baptism arrived. And mother Francesca celebrated her big day too in her Instagram Stories, where she wrote: «Athena, what a powerful name. Inside is everything I could wish for. I will protect you from evil, convention and hypocrisy. Around you only love, respect and freedom. You are our great love, the silk thread that unites mom and dad“.
