Francesca Pascale defends the Zan bill: “I slam: I am against the Church that discriminates”

Francesca Pascale is ready to get involved. The former partner of Silvio Berlusconi, a longtime civil rights activist, in an interview with Republic he said that the text of the Zan bill should be approved as it is, without changes, and argues that many of the people who vote for Forza Italia think like her. «It amazes me that Forza Italia does not allow freedom to vote on civil rights. At least half of the Forced electorate think the same as me, like Elio Vito, Stefania Prestigiacomo, Renata Polverini and the others who in the Chamber have already voted in favor and like Barbara Masini who is preparing to do so in the Senate.

Masini in the classroom came out. But the other thing that I regret is that we think that interested parties, homosexuals, should vote pro Ddl Zan. This it is a law that all decent people must vote for».

Criticizing the Vatican, which had requested, with an official intervention, a modification of the bill, he explained: «I have started the paperwork to beat me up. I am a believer, I would like it to be clear. But next to the apostolic Church, there is another part that is divided between homophobia and silence on pedophilia. I don’t like a Church that discriminates ». And again: «The sbattezzo is for me an act against that Church which forgets the Gospel and engages in political interference. The Vatican should make a revolution if it does not want to lose faithful ”.

On this issue, Pascale also clashed with the former partner: “Berlusconi is angry with me for the position on the Zan bill and why I go to Pride. He asks me: why? I answer him: because I believe in it. This time I disagree with him and I hope he changes his mind ».

A thousand amendments
Meanwhile, over a thousand amendments block the Zan bill: 700 are those presented by the League, 134 by Fi, 127 by Fdi, 80 by the UDC. The parliamentary path of the bill is likely to be postponed to September. According to Alessandro Zan, deputy of the Democratic Party and first signatory of the bill, these requests for changes «are the clear attempt to bury the law. Other than the desire for dialogue and mediation. Salvini on rights confirms that he has the same line as Orban », as he wrote on Twitter.

If Pd, M5s and LeU reaffirm their willingness to approve the text as it came out of the Chamber in November, the amendments of those requesting changes focus above all on articles 1, 4 and 7: freedom of expression, saving ideas clause and prevention activities to homotransphobic violence in schools.
