Franciacorta Week lands in Versilia, a toast to summer

A schedule full of events, in a seaside destination of excellence. There Franciacorta Week lands in Versilia with a week of dedicated events: after the success of the editions of Milano, New York e Tokyo, the initiative arrives on the Tuscan beaches from 13 to 20 July, transforming the well-known localities of the area (Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio, Seravezza, Marina di Pietrasanta and Lido di Camaiore) into a paradise for wine lovers.

To raise the curtain, on the 12th evening, the eleventh edition of Versilia Gourmet, the award ceremony linked to Versilia catering which, from this year, sees Franciacorta as official wine partner: at the historic restaurant La Barca, the winners of the various categories took turns on the stage, with the spotlight on Mauro Uliassi, chef from Senigallia three Michelin stars, which was awarded the recognition as Italian Excellence 2021.

Applause also for Luca Landi (Best chef in Versilia), Dina Novani (Lifetime Achievement Award), Antonio Pieri (Best in the room) and the Franco Mare, in Marina di Pietrasanta, who was elected Restaurant of the year. Own the restaurant of Davide and Nicola Stefanini, fresh from Michelin star, opens the doors to Franciacorta Week by creating – under the guidance of the young and talented Alessandro Ferrarini – ad hoc menus and tastings paired with wines.

From the blonde shrimp raw with caviar, ceviche and radish al crab with lemon curd, beetroot and cicada, dal sea ​​bass with zucchini, hollandaise sauce and lemon al ravioli with prawns with black garlic and n’duja, up tohomage to Bansky, a sweet champagne, strawberries and yuzu that reproduces the famous work of the little girl with the balloon signed by the British artist. All perhaps accompanied by a Save Extra Brut of the Monte Rossa winery.

“The choice is wide since we have 121 associated wineriesHe said Silvano Brescianini, president of the Franciacorta consortium, during the inauguration evening a Forte dei Marmi. “We are happy that this week – in bars, restaurants and establishments in Versilia who have joined the initiative (here the list) – there will be a chance to discover the versatility of our products “. Which, more and more, are an Italian excellence in the world.

On the other hand, Franciacorta, the first Italian wine produced exclusively with the classic method to have obtained in 1995 the Designation of origin and guaranteed, closed 2020 with 15.6 million of bottles sold, of which the 10.9% abroad. Hence the important partnerships with Slow Food in the gastronomic sector, with running 1000 Miles in the automotive sector and with National Chamber of the Monda in the fashion universe.

Elegant bubbles, therefore, in support of the Italian creativity and sustainability, a theme dear to Franciacortini producers. “Today the word Franciacorta identifies the territory, the wine and the production method”, concluded Brescianini, “which responds to scrupulous rules aimed at certifying the absolute quality“. Franciacorta Week in Versilia is therefore the ideal showcase to get closer to certain realities, or to learn more about them.

And, of course, also for a toast to summer.
