As it became known today by the Cardinal Summit that met in the Vatican, Pope Francis had given a special permission to be able to exceed the number of 120 cardinals who, according to the Apostolic Constitution, have the right to elect the Pontiff. This means that there is a “free” formally so that it can start the concussion on Wednesday, May 7 at 4:30 pm. There will be 133 cardinals under 80, who will have the right to vote and the election. This is a record number, regarding the process of electing Pontiff. Many cardinals do not even know each other personally, because they have never taken part in concussion and come from different continents. However, according to the meetings of high -ranking Catholic clergy, there is a relative optimism that, in order to select Francis’ successor, a large number of votes will be required.
