Franklin Templeton analysts believe that the new type of token sets the trend for the development of new projects based on the first cryptocurrency. Last year was marked by a renaissance of activity in the Bitcoin network.
Among the various projects and technologies, the investment fund experts highlighted the BRC-20 standard, L2 solutions based on blockchain. They have had the greatest impact on the development of advanced approaches, according to Franklin Templeton:
“The Ordinals have seen a sharp increase in trading volume over the past few months. This is reflected in the increasing dominance of Bitcoin starting in December 2023.”
At the same time, analysts recalled the risks associated with NFTs: Ordinals can lose value extremely quickly, and they have no insurance.
Previously, Franklin Templeton experts released a report from which it follows that memcoins have no intrinsic value and are extremely unstable. However, the fund's specialists recognize that memcoins have a strong connection with the networks on which they are issued, as well as with their communities.
