Fraport and its partner TAV Airports Holding won today’s auction for the new concession of Antalya Airport, submitting the highest total bid of 7.25 billion euros. 25% of the offer price is paid in advance within 90 days from the closing of the concession contract. The existing concession for Antalya Airport – managed by the joint venture Fraport and TAV – expires at the end of 2026.
The new concession agreement is expected to be signed in the first quarter of 2022, pending approval by Turkish competition authorities and airports. Fraport-TAV’s mandate as a concessionaire will include the operation of passenger terminals and other “exploration” infrastructures, such as retail, public parking and passenger control. The operating period for the new 25-year concession will begin in early 2027 (after the expiration of the existing contract).
According to the agreement, the infrastructure projects will have to be completed before the start of the new concession period. These projects include the expansion of Terminal 2 and the Inner Terminal, as well as the creation of new facilities for VIP / CIP passengers.
