Fraud-Mammoth by phone in Cyprus-62-year-old lost more than 1m euros

A sum of more than one million euros complained that he had lost a 62 -year -old, who fell victim to fraud from an unknown by phone. According to police, the 62 -year -old, a resident of Limassol, complained that between February 25 to 28, she contacted her by phone, who pretended to be a bank employee. The unknown, according to the complainant, told her that she had to immediately transfer money from her two bank accounts, because efforts were made to illegally withdrawal of money. The 62 -year -old, as reported by Sigmalive, was convinced by what was said by the unknown and sent him, through 34 different transactions, to bank accounts of foreign countries he indicated, the amount of $ 1,245,466 and 32,459 euros. When the 62 -year -old then contacted her bank, she found that she was a victim of fraud and denounced the case at the TAE Limassol Economic Crime Office. Investigations are ongoing.
