‘Freezing’ of contributions up to 24 installments in the companies affected by the fires in Attica and Evia

A circular of the Deputy Minister of Labor, Panagiotis Tsakloglou, provides for a suspension of payment and repayment in up to 24 installments for the contributions of the companies affected by the fires of last August in Attica.

Specifically, the circular concerns the areas affected by natural disaster of the Regional Units a) West Attica of the Attica Region b) East Attica of the Attica Region and c) Evia of the Region of Central Greece.

In detail, the following were defined as fire victims (fires of the 12th, 16th and 23rd of August 2021):

A) Peripheral Unit of West Attica of the Attica Region (fires of August 12, 2021):
• Location Rema Giannoulas-Kyrillos of the Municipality of Aspropyrgos

B) Peripheral Unit of Eastern Attica of the Attica Region (fires of 16 August 2021):
• Municipal Community of Agios Konstantinos of the Municipal Unit of Agios Konstantinos of the Municipality of Lavreotiki
• Municipal Community of Keratea of ​​the Municipal Unit of Keratea of ​​the Municipality of Lavreotiki

C) Peripheral Unit of West Attica of the Attica Region (fire of 16 August 2021):

• Municipal Community of Vilia of the Municipal Unit of Vilia of the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia
• Municipal Community of Mandra of the Municipal Unit of Mandra of the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia

D) Peripheral Unit of Evia of the Region of Central Greece (fire of 23 August 2021):
• Municipal Community of Marmari of the Municipal Unit of Marmari of the Municipality of Karystos.

As part of the relief and support of the victims, permanent arrangements have been established for companies, employers or insured persons who have a professional establishment or activity in areas affected by natural disasters or natural disasters and have been proven to have suffered damage.

For the above categories, the following facilities are provided regarding the payment of insurance contributions to the e-E.F.K.A. and any other insurance organization:

(a) capitalization of arrears of insurance contributions, period of employment until the end of the month preceding the natural disaster (after additional fees, interest, surcharges and other charges incurred until the end of the month preceding the natural disaster);

b) suspension of payment of current insurance contributions for six (6) months, starting from the 1st of the month in which the natural disaster occurred (without calculation during this period of additional fees or other surcharges);

c) payment of the above contributions, capitalized and current, in 12 to 24 equal monthly installments, starting from the 1st of the following month, during which the six-month suspension expired. The number of installments is determined by the quotient of the division of the amount of the damage by 1/24 of the total amount of the debt and in no case can it be less than 12 and greater than twenty 24.
