Freight prices fell in October for the third consecutive month, with the Repom Freight Index (IFR) registering an average of R$ 7.20, a drop of 3.61% compared to September.
In early October, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) released the new table of minimum prices for road freight, which now has reductions from 2.89% to 3.68%, depending on the type of transport table .
The fall follows the reduction of 5.80% for the liter of diesel sold at Petrobras refineries, which came into effect from September 20th. The correction in the freight table follows the definition of Law 14,445/2022, which determines that the readjustment occurs whenever the value of diesel fluctuates more than 5% for less or more.
“In October, the average price of a liter of diesel registered a reduction of just over 2% in relation to September, and closed the month at R$ 6.97 for the common diesel, and R$ 7.06 for the S-10, from according to the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL). However, in comparison with October 2021, in which the average freight price was costing an average of BRL 4.91, the increase in value reached 47% in one year”, said Vinicios Fernandes, director of Repom, Edenred’s brand Brazil and specializes in technological solutions for management and payment of expenses for the road freight transport market.
The IFR is an index of the average freight price and its composition, based on eight million annual freight and toll voucher transactions managed by Repom, a company in the freight and toll voucher payment segment, with more than 1 million of truck drivers served throughout Brazil.
