Xiaomi is the new winner of the fast charging technology race. On Monday, May 31st, the Chinese company unveiled its new solution to boost wired charging power to a record 200W.
Xiaomi’s latest HyperCharge fast charging technology allows you to fully charge your smartphone with a 4000mAh battery via the USB Type-C port in just 8 minutes. And charging the same battery from 0 to 50% will take just 3 minutes. The charging process was clearly demonstrated on a custom version of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro.
Along with 200W fast wired charging, a new fast wireless charging has been introduced, which reaches 120W of power. The wireless solution can charge a 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 10% in just 1 minute, 0 to 50% in 7 minutes, and a full charge takes 15 minutes. It should be noted here that 120W HyperCharge wireless charging has replaced the 80W wireless charging technology introduced in October last year. It allowed charging a completely discharged 4000 mAh battery to 100% in 19 minutes.
Xiaomi did not reveal the details of its new fast charging technology. Also, the company did not specify exactly when and in what devices it will be implemented. But, most likely, ultra-fast charging will only be available on flagships.
