From Audrey Hepburn to Rocco Siffredi, 10 upcoming biopics between cinema and TV: who plays who?

You see it Alessandro Borghi as Rocco Siffredi? Well yes: the Roman actor has decided to embrace the challenge and will transform himself, believe it or not, into the king of porn. It happens in the Netflix series Supersex filming is underway, so to see the result and satisfy every curiosity we will have to be patient a little longer. It’s not the only biopic in progress these days, indeed.

The genre is all the rage on both the small and big screens. Antoine Fuqua has just announced a project on the life of Michael Jackson and Robbie Williams is working on a documentary about his career titled Better Man. On the other hand, the project on Madonna that the pop star was supposed to direct shortly: Julia Garner by Ozarks she had been chosen to play the diva, but nothing to do. Mrs. Ceccone has announced her world tour and doesn’t have time to get back behind the camera.

From the Netflix series about Formula 1 driver Airton Senna onwards, I am many films and series that focus the spotlight on true and exciting stories. Ten, though, are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

1. Alessandro Borghi becomes Rocco Siffredi

The first has been rumored for some time: it’s called Supersex, is a Netflix series and stars Alessandro Borghi as Rocco Siffredi. An unexpected combination, of course, but one that arouses much interest.

2. Angelina Jolie becomes Maria Callas

Angelina Jolie will be the divine Maria Callas for Pablo Larrain, who recently staged the life of Lady D in Spencer with Kristen Stewart.

3. Rooney Mara becomes Audrey Hepburn

Luca Guadagnino has chosen Rooney Mara for the biopic of Audrey Hepburn signed Apple Studios. The actress also appears in the project as a producer.

4. Juliette Binoche becomes Coco Chanel

In the AppleTV+ series The New Look There’s a clash of fashion titans: The Christian Dior biopic stars Juliette Binoche as the runway antagonist, another French fashion icon, Coco Chanel.

5. Jacob Elordi becomes Elvis

In Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla, the role of Elvis belongs to Jacob Elordi. Ironically, the king of rock and roll was played by Austin Butler just recently. How are these two related? The first was engaged to Kaia Gerber, Butler’s current partner and daughter of Cindy Crawford.

6. Timothée Chalamet becomes Bob Dylan

They gave him up for a doomed but no. Timothée Chalamet recently confirmed that he has been preparing to play Bob Dylan for two years. The project – he promises – is still standing.

7. Marisa Abela becomes Amy Winehouse

Is called Back to black and traces the short and troubled life of singer Amy Winehouse. She plays Maria Abela, currently on the set directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, director of Fifty Shades of Gray.

8. Miriam Leone becomes Oriana Fallaci

The series Miss Fallaci of Paramount+ filming is about to begin: the journalist has the face of Miriam Leone while Laura Morante plays Alda Merini. Eight intense episodes that promise very well.

9. Adam Driver becomes Enzo Ferrari

After House of GucciAdam Driver returns to Italy to give life to another entrepreneur who made the history of the Peninsula in the biopic Ferrarias anticipated at the Professional Cinema Days in Sorrento.

10. Bradley Cooper becomes Leonard Bernstein

Bradley Cooper returns behind the camera for Netflix: he will direct and interpret Maestro, the biopic on the conductor Leonard Bernestein that puts all his humanity on stage.
