A new extension for July, instead of May, at the beginning of the return of part of the aid from the repayable advance payment and repayment in 96 instead of 90 installments was announced today by the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras.
Speaking at the General Assembly of the Panhellenic Hoteliers Association, the Minister of Finance reminded that from the aid of 8.3 billion euros given through the repayable advance in the period April 2020 – June 2021, 6 billion euros have already been cut and now the beneficiaries should to return 2.3 billion euros.
He stressed, however, that this money will be repaid gradually from next July (instead of after the end of the first four months that had been announced) and the installments for its repayment will be 96 instead of 90 that had been institutionalized.
He also said that the Ministry of Finance will immediately implement its announcement for the extension until the end of the year of low VAT rates in tourism, catering, transport, theaters and cinemas.
He even said that both new facilities made due to the crisis of high inflation will be institutionalized with ministerial decisions that will be made public by the end of the week or early next day.
