For the first time, David Beckham reveals the most intimate details of his life in a documentary of Netflix: how his love story began with Victoria Beckham to the obsessive-compulsive disorder he has suffered from for some time.

It’s been 10 years since the 48-year-old former footballer hung up his boots. Nonetheless, his legacy is more present than ever and today Beckham is ready to tell his story.

What is the David Beckham documentary about?

Directed by the Oscar winner Fisher Stevens and produced by the Emmy winner John Battsekthe miniseries in four parts will offer an in-depth look at the athlete’s life thanks to the testimonies of family, friends and former teammates. The project will not only look back at his childhood and triumphs at Manchester United and Real Madrid, but will also tell the story of the personal and professional challenges he faced to become the football star we know today.

Victoria Beckham reveals she stalked David Beckham before their first date

As in every documentary, the romantic part of the story cannot be missing. To that end, the 49-year-old designer will also talk about her crush on the businessman she’s been married to for 24 years (and counting).

In a first teaser, Posh Beckham admits that she went to Manchester United matches just to see him: “Some will say to stalk, I say to see him”, underlines the former Spice Girl.

In the mini clip, Victoria also explains what it was about David that attracted her attention the most and won her over permanently: «When I saw him in the players’ lounge, all the others were at the bar, while he was standing there talking to his parents. As he has stated on several occasions, the former Manchester United player is fanatical about order and cleanliness at home: a fanaticism linked to his obsessive-compulsive disorder.

“I clean very well, but to be honest I don’t think my wife appreciates it too much,” he jokes.

«When the others are already in bed, I go around cleaning the candles, adjusting the lights and making sure everything is in order. I hate getting up in the morning and finding dirty cups, bowls and plates. But it’s tiring to have to thoroughly clean every single candle,” adds David.
