From record to record cases in Turkey – Close to 50,000 in the past 24 hours

The outbreak of his cases SARS-CoV-2 in Turkey continues unabated after easing restrictions in early March, breaking another negative record since the start of the pandemic today, with 49,584 infections reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health, while at the same time the daily number of deaths associated with the disease reached a high quarter.

At the same time, another 211 people died in the previous 24 hours, the highest number since the beginning of January. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic is 32,456.

Last week, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a tightening of restrictive measures, including the resumption of a total lockdown across the country during Ramadan, which begins on April 13 this year.

According to Reuters, Turkey is currently ranked as the country with the fifth highest number of daily cases on a weekly average.
