From Rhove to Rondo: music that betrays the pact with the public

When did the artists decide that the public is not the reason for their success but a problem to be solved and, possibly, to be eliminated? The question hit our heads this week, given that, two days after each other, two rappers showed no respect for the audience that was listening to them as they performed on stage. The first was Rhove, stage name of Samuel Roveda, who during his show in Ferrara at one point stopped the music and left the stage, impatient with the audience because, according to him, he showed little participation in his warbling. “A quarter of you were still at the end of the concert, there is no such thing as the last song, stay still. The gig is over and you haven’t missed a *** yet. It is a problem ». This angry attitude immortalized by the smartphones of the people who were there to listen to him and who probably won’t spend any more money on his ticket in the future, aroused in Rhove the need to explain: on Instagram he wrote that he felt “demoralized», But thanking all the« guys who were breaking everything »(interesting that today’s artists are not aware of the existence of dissent: how will they be able to build a career if they don’t take it into account?).

The second singer to have made headlines for a similar reason was another rapper: Rondo da Sosa, stage name of Mattia Barbieri. For him a good complaint to the Grosseto police headquarters since, during his concert on 9 July at the Disco Village in Follonica, at one point he threw a punch in the face of a person from the very first rows under the stage. Three days later Rondo explained on Instagram that his reaction would have been dictated by the fact that someone was going to steal his watch and necklace: «Since I entered there was the first row of people who kept touching me in the area of the wrist and chest. When I felt my wrist tug I thought: I’m not going to let just any kid take my watch. I sweated 2 years to get it ». Apart from the fact that we would like to know the name of the sly who thinks he can steal a watch from a person who is on stage without considering that, being in the front row, he would still not have easy access to the exits, one wonders: if even if we admitted the hypothesis of theft, was it possible that there were no other ways to hold on to the watch, such as approaching the opposite side of the stage?

The fact that two very young rappers like Rhove and Rondo, albeit for different reasons, actually attacked the audience who were there to support them and sing along with them is a rather serious thing not to say unfair, given that the secret pact that binds artists to fans has always been mutual respect, given that without the fan the artist is nothing and would have nothing to do with it. Is it possible that, although young, rappers don’t understand that by acting in this way they hurt themselves more than others? The Nuclear Tactical Penguins had the courage to expose themselves on Rhove’s story by asking rhetorically on Instagram: «Who explains that making them sing and jump is their job? It is as if a cook insulted customers for leaving leftovers or not eating. When we talk about the mess we also talk about this: the evenings with 50 disinterested people in front of you that you have to conquer yourself teach you first of all respect. And then the trade. Making concerts and making hits are two different things ». And nothing, they said everything the Penguins, a band that has worked so hard to emerge and that, according to some, would be one step away from conquering the stadiums soon. One thing that, if things remain these, may never happen to Rhove and Rondo.
