Already available for some years, the state of WhatsApp is a feature very similar to Stories of Instagram useful for sharing updates, only visible for 24 hours, with our contacts. They can include photos, videos or GIFs and, like conversations, are protected by encryption end to end to keep your shares private and secure. And it is precisely about this feature that the WhatsApp team has announced the launch of some new features that will make this tool even more effective.
The first concerns the theme of privacy: indeed we can choose who can view a status each time we update it and, to simplify subsequent publications, the choice of the most recent audience will be applied by default for future states: in fact, when creating new content, it will be enough tap on the button State that appears at the bottom left to specify whether to show it to all contacts in the address book, exclude only some or limit visibility to a specific list.
In addition to adding the reactions to respond quickly to updates from our contacts simply swiping up and tapping one of the emojis proposals, you add the possibility of share voice messages in status lasting up to 30 seconds and it will be even easier to notice i new updates thanks to the circle that will appear around the profile picture of the contacts and visible in the chats, between the lists of participants in the groups and in the Contact info.
Finally, for the statuses to be more appealing, we will be able to view previews of the contents of the link like when we share one via chat.
But how long will we have to wait before we can take advantage of these functions? According to what was announced, the implementation of these updates is already underway and will be available to all users already during the next few weeks.
