FTX is accepting applications for compensation again

The FTX cryptocurrency exchange announced the resumption of its website for accepting applications for compensation.

In late August, bankruptcy consultant Kroll Inc.’s internal database, including client files, was compromised and accounts were frozen. During this period, FTX users were unable to submit claims for compensation.

“After assessing the recent Kroll cybersecurity incident, FTX has unfrozen all affected accounts. Applicants can now resume activities on our platform where we have introduced additional security measures. The incident did not impact any FTX systems and the account freeze was a precautionary measure,” the company said in a statement.

FTX customers have until September 29 to file a claim through Kroll, but it is unclear how much creditors will receive, reports The Block.
