FTX US is going to teach financial literacy to the poor in Chicago

Crypto exchange FTX opened the headquarters of the American representative office and announced the launch of a pilot program of guaranteed income and benefits for needy citizens.

FTX US opened in partnership with the charitable organization Equity and Transformation is going to sponsor financial literacy education for 100 Chicagoans. In addition, each of the program participants will be able to receive $500 per month through the FTX platform during the year, open a free bank account and receive a Visa debit card.

“FTX US’s new programming initiative has the potential to completely transform the lives of those in need,” said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Funding for the initiative will come from the FTX Foundation, a foundation that plans to give at least $100 million to philanthropic programs in 2022.

FTX US CEO Brett Harrison believes that over time, Chicago can become a major crypto hub.

“It would be very convenient to gain a foothold here and establish business, as well as to contact the Chicago exchanges, trading companies and venture capital investors more closely,” Harrison added.

In late April, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried met with Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon to discuss collaboration between the two companies regarding future FTX funding rounds and joint participation in an initial public offering. stock exchange (IPO).
