In the meantime, we can see what the Core i7-11800H model is capable of in Geekbench. To begin with, we note that this is an eight-core processor with Hyper-Threading support, frequencies of 2.3-4.6 GHz and 24 MB of L3 cache.
So, in the benchmark, the CPU is gaining 1400-1537 in single-threaded mode and 7727-8393 points in multi-threaded. The spread is large, but for mobile CPUs, which are especially dependent on the power and cooling limits set by the manufacturer, this is quite normal.
If we compare the results of the Core i7-11800H with other processors, we can see that the new Intel is ahead of the Ryzen 7 5800H, but is inferior to the Ryzen 9 5900H. At the same time, the gap from its predecessors is very large.
It is not yet known exactly when such CPUs will come out, but early tests show that they may allow Intel to once again fully compete with AMD in the segment of high-performance mobile processors.
