Full-cycle production of the updated Kia Cerato has begun in Russia, including welding, painting and body assembly

According to Kia, the Kaliningrad plant Avtotor has begun mass production of the updated Kia Cerato sedan in a full cycle mode, which includes welding, painting and body assembly. At the plant, the Seltos and Soul crossovers are assembled in this mode.

Avtotor started production of Kia Cerato in 2012, and since then the plant has produced more than 100 thousand cars. The fourth generation Cerato began production in 2018, and in August of this year, the SKD of the newest version of the sedan was launched.

The new Kia Cerato is the first in Russia to receive an updated Kia logo above the radiator grill and a new design with thinner LED headlights and dual-row LED daytime running lights. The rear LED lights provide a three-dimensional effect. The car is equipped with 17-inch disks and is equipped with a 128-horsepower 1.6-liter and 150-horsepower 2-liter engines with a manual 6-speed gearbox or 6-range “automatic”.

For the first time in Russia the factory telematics complex Kia Connect is used in this car. The application and on-board services of Kia Connect will allow the owner to remotely activate various functions of the car, receive up-to-date information about its condition and location. It will be possible to remotely start and warm up the engine, set climate control settings, and control door locks. The car received dual-zone climate control, an electric parking brake and a wireless charging pad for a smartphone. The list of equipment includes a set of security systems and assistance to the driver of the Drive Wise complex. Depending on the configuration, up to eleven electronic systems and assistants will be available to users. Regardless of the configuration, Cerato is equipped with a new multimedia system with an 8-inch display and wireless support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Yandex services.

The new Kia Cerato sedan is available in six trim levels and 12 configuration and engine combinations at prices ranging from 1,394,900 to 1,829,900 rubles.
